Philosophy.

Weds. 02/12/2014.

Natalie Ratabesi Injected some Toughness and Darkness into her Fall 2014 Philosophy Collection to great appeal, when it worked. Sadly though, there were many places in this collection where things did not work. Quixotically, the collection was plagued by both Over-Design AND Under-Design Issues. Some things looked Woefully Overworked and Taxing while others looked Distractingly Plain and Mediocre. Some issue also must be taken with Ratabesi for either consciously or unconsciously Aping the style of Allesandro Dell'Acqua for his house, No. 21. It didn't make things any better, however that pendulum swung!

The middle section offered the best rewards, in a Peachy shade of Pale Pink, this entire section looked the freshest and had the best achieved ideas. Like Exit No. 14 a Sheer Fine Knit long sleeve Tee neck Sweater dress over a Beaded Tank dress look Great, In a grungy 90's kind of way, as did a Smartly cut Little Edge-to-Edge Jacket and slim skirt combination at Exit No. 18. The best? A Coat at Exit No. 20. Also WELL Worth Noting, On Riley Montana (Gotta Love My Hometown Girl!) A Black Ensemble with a Shiny/Matte Version of Exit No. 18's Jacket and some REALLY well cut Trousers!

When all was Said and Done, it wasn't the best showing, and by the time of writing this, the news has already been announced that Ratabesi is no longer with the House of Philosophy, and it seems like such a shame, After an Ethereal Spring Collection that she should end her tenure with such a disappointingly Uneven collection. Here's to Hoping she is on to Bigger, Brighter and Better things!

That's All.
