Oh, Lord! Here We Go Again! Vera, Vera, VERA!? What In The Ever Loving Hell Is The Matter With You? In the spirit of Briefness, I will keep the chatter here to a Merciful Minimum, but still in all... WHAT? Wang is making herself look entirely foolish presenting collections that she has recently. That the critics and buyers continue to applaud her only proves that The Emperor's New Clothes are Hot Ticket Items to be had! It's a Ghastly failure of Sense and of Taste. What started out pretty great, got shot with a Rifle in the head and Slaughtered!
Wang started off cleverly enough... A Bug Brooch here... A "You Bug Me" Tee there... Some Plaid, Some Argyle, Some Leather, Nothing Objectionable at all... in fact all pretty good stuff to begin with. A nearly Floor-Length Mousseline Tunic/Blouse/Smock in Black over a Dusky Floral print pants and bare nipples actually was Stunning at Exit No. 14. Even the Eye Bedazzling Floral-On-Floral Orgy at Exit No. 16 was Kooky and kinda Insane, in a good Way!
This gave way to a kind of Victorian/Gothic Bohemian Granny vibe that was Pretty much Satiating and A Great look for the season, it's an Original take on a Tired trope that Wang seemed to breathe some Vintage/Modern Life into. It was Grungy, and that's nothing new, but during the Grunge Era, Wang was all Super Uptown Bridal and Missed her moment to indulge in the Grittiness, so she's having her Grunge Moment! Let her be! Then a SAVAGELY Beautiful Look at Exit No. 28... A Black Evening coat over a Steel Coloured Glitter Tank top and a Slink of a Column skirt in Steel Lame was Soul Searingly Magnificent!
And then, The Troubles. After Exit No. 29... The Train Derailed! The less said about those Unfortunate Final outfits, Mercifully, The Better! Horrifying would be a Great Start, Abominable is more Accurate! They were a Travesty Walking. I have no clue, NONE, ABSOLUTELY NOT ONE DAMN IOTA OF A CLUE what made Wang think these were presentable? Who was going to wear these Sickly efforts? Who IS this Woman? I don't know, I am not in fact, sure that Vera does either! They sank the whole collection... Almost. There were pieces that were going to be on everyone's Mind after this show, For the Right Reasons. Also, Those Final Atrocities are going to be Indelibly etched as well... it's just a matter of which one put up the stronger fight. I am happy to admit, the Early Pieces are Winning In my mind!
