Phillip Lim offered something of a Quiet, Pastoral mood for Fall 2014, dressing his Muse that he had Christened, "Soleil" in a Spring worthy palette of pastels and powder shades that segued into darker more somber shades. The clothes Lim did produce for his Muse were easily adaptable to Spring and Fall, and that may be the great Triumph here, that even with this being an essentially cool weather collection, many of these outfit pieces can be incorporated into a Woman's closet now and come Spring 2015!
A pretty mixed print Button front shirt was paired to Dazzling effect with wide-leg Charcoal Wrap over Trousers for Exit No. 2 and would be as welcome in April as in October. The Slouchy, Buttery soft Trench coat at Exit No. 17 is Practically seasonless and Looked ready to take on the world Right This Minute! More Fall-like was Exit No. 25, A Splendid oversized Windowpane plaid Jacket in Charcoal and Caramel worn with the same Plaid print Trousers but in Bone White and Charcoal. The Charcoal pantsuit at Exit No. 36 had Perfection written all over it!
Lim proves again and again he has the magic to produce Highly Desirable and Wearable clothes that don't take a shot of courage to wear. The woman he is dressing is not worn by her clothes, her clothes are her companions in the dialogue of her everyday life, they need to function and still look Fabulous. Today, he continued that Noble pursuit with Abundant Ease!
That's All.
