Edun.

Sun. 02/09/2014.

Danielle Sherman is only in her second season at Edun and has already put something of a Stamp on the Bono (Yes, THAT Bono!) and his Wife Ali Hewson owned label! For Fall 2014 she was inspired by an Exhibition at that Quai Branly Museum in Paris on African Textiles From 1800's forward. This came through in the mostly Muted Colour Palette and The Textural Juxtapositions. The Cozy and Fuzzy/Nuzzly Strain that has infected Fall so far it would seem, was especially Virulent here. It looked Great in Sherman's Hands.

Sherman has a Soft Spot for Africa, but here that was only Vaguely suggested but did suffuse the collection with it's spirit. Working with Very Wide leg trousers Brought the collection into the Bohemian Side of things, but there was a Subdued Bohemianism being shown. Quiet almost. Subtle was Key, but in a wholly Extrovert way. Layering and Patchworking gave the clothes further more interest. Working in shades from Ash Grey To Charcoal and Camel, Black, Honey and Various Off-White tones, Sherman kept the collection Impactive by not using Jarring Colour, It made the Coziness of the collection even more so, especially since she went heavy on the Knits and Fuzzy Materials!

The Outerwear was the thing that got the blood pumping most and is going to capture the buyers attention the most, A great high waisted belted coat was shown multiple times in different shades, but was keeping it's Want Factor High in each iteration and the Elongated knits are going to keep many a lady warm come Winter.

All in all, it was a collection that will keep Sherman in the eye of those watching the Fashion game and seeing which rookies have the chops to make it from Triple-A to the Big Leagues. If Sherman keeps Batting like this, she might find herself in the Rotation!

That's All.

Bye4Now!
