Issa.

Mon. 02/17/2014.

The Issa Fall 2014 collection presented by New House Artistic Director, Blue Farrier augured well for the Incoming designer. The collection showed Many influences Mixed and Matched to desirable effect. From Old School Louis Feraud to Marni to Chloe. The showing wasn't without fault, but it was a Bold, Confident start for Farrier who was Baptized in the workrooms of Chloe.

With Bold Outbursts of Geometrically inspired Mosaics of Colour to Open, Farrier was announcing Very Loudly and Clearly that she was to be take seriously. A Very Punchy Exit No. 5 combined a Cropped Peony Pink blouson top with a Fluid Skirt combining Spice, Scarlet, White, Black, Navy and a touch of the Pink from the top to Dazzling Effect! As things got more involved, one could see a Cliff Huxtable Quality to many of the Knits in the collection and while some worked, Others Worked AGAINST the collection. Deeper down the Rabbit Hole, an Abstract Floral lent a Marni touch to the collection, yet worked Beautifully in all it's applications. From a Tone-on-Tone coat Coat on Jacquettea Wheeler at Exit No. 21 to an Absolutely Lovely Evening Gown in Cerise Red at Exit No. 27. Later still, the Floral appeared on a Set of Long Skirted Outfits, One in Maraschino Red with Pale Pink flowers and a Short sleeve Blouson for Exit No. 30 and one with a Kimono sleeve Clean front Jacket in Spruce Green with the same Pink flowers.

This was an Exciting and Pulse Racing Debut for Farrier. It gave the impression of a Designer who is Firmly in control of the Vision she has for the House and has the Tools to make that Vision a Reality. One can see this label, under Farrier's hand become the New Cool Label and cloaked on all the Pretty Things in the Social/Celebrity Scene.

Instant Cool is a hard commodity to come by, But Blue Farrier seems like she just Popped it right out of her pocket Today! Something tells me we're on the cusp of a New Superstar Being Born!

That's All.
