Marc By Marc Jacobs.

Tues. 02/11/2014.

Frankly My Dear, I Don't Give A Damn! Uttered by Clark Gable in the cinematic ode to olden excess "Gone With The Wind" was the perfect phrase to describe how I felt about The Fall Marc by Marc Jacobs collection now headed up by Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier. It wasn't much of anything to Give a Damn about! It didn't feel Fresh, Fun or frankly, like anything new. Moreover, it was trying WAY too Hard to BE something. Hip, Quirky, Edgy, who knows. But it was weighed down with it's own sense of Ironical self to be truly Engaging!

The clothes were just fine, nothing objectionable, But somehow, they missed that essential component of what made Marc by Marc Jacobs always so, Devilish! There was no Wry Wit to the collection that Jacobs himself injected so easily. There was a lack of Jacobs' Dueling between Serious and Comic and how when the clothing was one side of the equation it always had a small element of the other buried in it. Here, The clothes just came off as Wannabes. Those Bows? Those Hideous Plaids? Really?

There wasn't ONE Single Outfit that made enough of an impression on me to mention. Not One! I would have preferred it being Dreadful, Then there would have been something to pick apart. This wasn't even Underwhelming. It lacked even enough personality to be Unimpressive! It was Uniformly Forgettable. And isn't that worse than being Bad?

That's All.

Bye4Now!
